Moon Cake Day

Not the best quality photo but remember we are time traveling over the past 3 years and I am over the top excited that I received a new camera at the end of the school year. So in the future better quality photos;)

So our first holiday experience in China was Mid-Autumn Festival which usually lands late September to early October (my favorite time of the year)! It is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with a full moon at night. The purpose of the festival is to gather (friends, family, and food), give thanks, and pray (for babies, spouse, longevity, etc).

Sounds almost like Thanksgiving….so we gathered, had food, gave thanks, and prayed for our wonderful host country.

And like any good Southerner would do…….
